Harris County Precinct 1 Commissioner Rodney Ellis and his office organized a community forum for his constituents to come out and learn about the goings-on in the precinct and to learn about the resources available to help them. This included a panel of experts from local Harris County agencies including Harris County Flood Control, Harris County Toll Road Authority, Harris County Engineering Department, as well as Judge Tonya Jones, and the HOME Coalition.
Before and after the Commissioner’s update and panel, 40 attendees were able to stop by information resource booths like Project Recovery where they could fill out their pre-applications for assistance. We spoke to 15 individually and helped one person apply as well as scheduling appointments for 4 people.
