Members of the Houston Responds Northwest Region coalition member Hope Disaster Recovery turned out in force for a Congregational Disaster Readiness meeting attended by 40 people to discuss the new communication system developed by Houston Responds. This system will help member congregations know where help is needed and where to deploy manpower and resources more efficiently.
Congregations gave their input on the system and brainstormed how they could get more involved. We shared Project Recovery information and gave out flyers to each table. After the meeting, we discussed Project Recovery with member congregations as well as Jan Sexton, Director of Community Centers & Senior Adult Programs for Harris County Precinct 4. She requested 500 flyers and will let us know of events in the precinct.
