A multitude of health resources were available to the residents from around Harris County who came out to a health fair hosted by World Harvest Church. There were opportunities for the attendees to benefit from a free dental and vision exam in addition to health screenings and advice on healthy living. Attendees were even able to get a haircut to look their best and a massage from a massage therapist to relieve stress.
We made an announcement to 75 people in the sanctuary letting them know about the Project Recovery program and the assistance available. We then directed anyone impacted by Hurricane Harvey to stop by our table for more information and informed them we could even help them fill out their pre-application on site.
After our announcement, several people stopped by to take the information to family members. We even helped one individual fill out her pre-app after getting a haircut. Not only was she glad to be able to sign up for the program, she was excited about her new hairstyle too!
